Entry Conditions & Test Rules

The aim is for a simple test format.  The judges set their rules for the competition.  General rules and guidance for entry and participation will be displayed at the gundog test reception marquee and/or given by the judges. By entering a test a competitor acknowledges that they have read and accept the simple set of test rules and accept the terms of our notices concerning test entry, conduct and matters of health and safety in the gundog test area.

Our aim is to hold a well-ordered yet relaxed form of competition for the enjoyment of the competitors and their dogs. These are independent tests designed and open to any variety, breed or standard of working gundogs.  Non Kennel Club-registered dogs may enter.

There may be one or more judges marking each test. The judges' decisions are final in all matters including how a run-off for places is set. Setting the Test, marking and adjudicating the competition and making the awards are under the authority of the judge/s of the Test. The judge/s’ direction, judgement and discretion on the day of the Test prevails. The scoring method for the competition is set by the judge/s. Points will be awarded by the judge/s for each task. These are aggregated to a total score for the whole test.

Prize awards – If contestants are not present at the prize-giving, we are unable to undertake to hold or to forward trophies, certificates or prizes to those absent.

Should a run-off for a place be required and a contestant is not present at 15:00 or at the end of the last run (whichever is sooner) for a call to run again the judges will decide on how to award the placings which may mean that the absent contestant forfeits their place.
